We hosted about 25 participants from local businesses. We had some existing clients, some new folks, and even some tech students. We had special guest speakers from Sophos Security, Dolph and Matt, who gave their expert angle on security, provided webcam covers for everyone (thanks guys!) and gave us a few laughs.
Project Online Essentials - Microsoft's relatively new name for Project Online Lite. This is the scaled down version, that allows Team Members and Resources to view their tasks, provide updates to their work, and collaborate with others in the Project Site.
Microsoft Teams - a new chat-based productivity tool which allows users to collaborate in rooms with integrations to Office 365. It's very similiar to Slack if you've used that, but because it's Microsoft it has all the integrations to other Microsoft tools.
Simplex-IT is hosting a CyberSecurity Seminar with Sophos Security on April 12th!
This seminar is specifically geared towards the CEO or Business Owner of local businesses who are concerned about lost or stolen devices with access to company information, privacy of confidential information, employment litigation introduced when employees use personal devices to access company data and State and Federal laws that carry heavy fines for lost or stolen data.
What better way to celebrate Pi Day than with real pie? We couldn’t think of a single one! The plan was to deliver pies to our Gold and Platinum clients on Pi Day (Tuesday 3/14). We gathered a list, made our routes, ordered pies, made some cool Pi Day cards, and had a good plan.
We're at it again! We are hosting another CyberSecurity Seminar in April, and wanted to be sure you heard about it first. It's a free event, but due to the size of the room we're limited to 40 participants. But sure to reserve your spot soon.
During This Seminar You’ll Discover:
The scary risks of mobile and cloud computing – and 10 critical policies, procedures and protections EVERY business must have in place NOW to protect themselves; overlook even one and you’re exposing yourself to security breaches, damaging and expensive litigation, employment lawsuits and having confidential company information exposed to competitors, hackers and cyber criminals.
Microsoft Project is great for managing your project schedule, but when you want to communicate project information, you need a variety of different reports to convey your rmessage. Microsoft Project has reports geared toward summarizing information for executives, filtering tasks for each resource, and budget reports for bean counters.
We tend to think Skype and Skype for Business is just for video calls, but it can be used to increase communication and collaboration in a number of different ways:
Voice Calling (VoIP) – Audio calls are easy in Skype, and you don’t pay for long distance or airtime.
One of the most common questions I am asked is what's the difference between Microsoft Project and Project Online. Which one do you need? Do you need both?
One big difference is the number of projects you're managing. If you're managing one project at a time, and you don't have a lot people accessing the project, then Microsoft Project is probably a good fit.
Have you heard of Microsoft Teams yet? It's a new chat-based productivity tool which allows users to collaborate in rooms with integrations to Office 365. It's very similiar to Slack if you've used that, but because it's Microsoft it has all the integrations to other Microsoft tools.
